Good but formula changed
When I started giving this to my older GSD who has a sensitive stomach and skin almost a year ago, he ate it pretty quickly. I was surprised and glad since he usually doesn’t like dry food but he likes Salmon. But then soon after he started not really liking it, and just eating it when he was hungry enough. Well I found out on Purina’s website from customers that they changed the formula (not saying what the changes were), and a bunch of people were having the same result where their dogs were no longer liking the flavor. Unfortunate. May try their wet food at one point. Other than that, good for his stomach and skin! My vet approves as well!

My pet loves this product. She has tried others but this one Cleans the Plate.
My pet has tried 6 other dog food and Purina salmon sensitive stomach is the best one yet. I will stick with Purina products. I cannot vouch for the taste but it smells good.

Improved my Labrador’s life tremendously!
Athena (my lab) suffered from bad gas, loose stools, and would routinely vomit. Each food I tried she never really seemed to care for and may not touch it all day until she got really hungry. The day I switched to this there was almost an immediate improvement. She eats every bit as soon as I feed her, no more gas, no more loose stools, and no more vomit. This food has made her life and my life much more happy.

Helped Chihuahua
I have a 13 year old chihuahua who suffers from bad allergies. He excessively licks his paws, scratches his ears, and has some hair loss due to scratching. I switched to this brand for about a week and it took him a minute to adjust because he went from eating twice a day to only once but now he loves it. He does not lock his paws or bite his fur anymore. He scratches his ears maybe once every two days now but it’s way less than before. His stool is normal and he hasn’t vomit unless he eats the food too fast. I’m so happy I found something that works!

We have gone through many different dog foods in 3 years. Our girl is picky and seems to like change. She has gone through a number of bags of the Lamb and Oat food. She has allergies and dermatitis to boot. We’re doing great 3 months out.

We have a frenchie that has bad allergies! We tried everything to no avail!! Vet told us to get this food in Lamb and Oatmeal Flavor. They said no chicken or beef, only lamb as it is the best for his allergies. Took a week or so to like the flavor and great improvement in rash. This food was a life saver for our dog!!

My dog loves this food
Although, the pellets aren’t as small as as I like because my dog Bud who is 15+ years old has had almost all his teeth extracted. I like that this food for his sensitive stomach. I have tried other foods, but, he has gotten sick with them. I have been feeding him Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach Salmon & Rice, which, are smaller pellets and easier for him to swallow and I am trying to give Bud another food to eat so he doesn’t eat the same type of food all the time.

My dog has stomach issues
My dog gas stomach issues. He was on a prescription diet for a little while and when he got better I switched him to Iams. He’s been fine for about a year or so with no puking but recently he started puking again so I switched him to this food and I changed his wet food too. He’s not puking anymore so I think this is a good alternative to having him back on the expensive perscription food.

Helps When my dog has Stomach Problems
I bought this because my Siberian husky eats anything and everything and always has stomach problems. I purchased a prescription bag from the vet and it was so expensive and she seemed to be going through it fast. I could not fathom once again paying almost $90 for a bag of food my dog hated and I had to force her to eat. I thought maybe I would try this since she eats Purina Pro Plan Performance 30/20. She hates this too. I have to force her to eat it. I am guessing it’s because she is a husky and is boujie. We went through I dont know how many flavors of food until we found one she will actually eat.The only reason for 4 stars is because she hates it and won’t eat it so I am now out $20.

This is the best for chronic bowel and skin
Our vet recommends Proplan for all our crew, and this particular food has helped tremendously with our boxer’s inflammatory bowel disease and skin allergy. She has mast cell tumor also, which adds to skin and bowel burden. We have tried multiple foods including prescription diets including but nothing has really helped to keep her normal, healthy, and energetic. She’s older now, and over the past year and a half there have been a couple scary spells with her digestive system health. But she’s back on track with this food- in particular the turkey and oatmeal and we couldn’t be happier. As an added bonus our senior Dachshund has always had borderline constipation despite food choice, and since she’s been eating this same food she has had perfectly normal, sufficient bowel movements. 100% satisfied.

I have a 5 year old Shih Tzu who has itchy paws and scratches like crazy. I have gotten him injections. Given him benadryl, had him checked for fleas and nothing had yielded results. The vet said he is probably allergic to poultry so suggested this food. My dog is very spoiled and picky but I have noticed he doesn’t itch as much so I believe it works.

Perfect for frequently vomiting dogs
I recently switched my dog’s food to Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach Dog Food, and I am extremely pleased with the results. My dog has always had sensitive skin and a sensitive stomach, and this particular formula has made a noticeable difference in his overall health and well-being. The turkey and oatmeal combination not only provides a delicious taste, but it also helps to soothe his skin and promote healthy digestion. One of the standout features of this dog food is the addition of probiotics. These beneficial bacteria aid in digestion and help to maintain a healthy gut flora, which is crucial for dogs with sensitive stomachs. I have noticed a significant decrease in his digestive issues since switching to this formula. His stools are firmer and he no longer experiences frequent bouts of indigestion or upset stomach.Furthermore, the high-quality ingredients in this dog food are impressive. The real turkey is a great source of lean protein, which supports muscle development and overall health. The oatmeal provides essential carbohydrates for energy, and it is gentle on the stomach. Additionally, this formula is free from artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives, ensuring that my dog is getting a nutritious and wholesome meal.Overall, I highly recommend Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach Dog Food with Probiotics. It has made a noticeable difference in my dog’s health and vitality. The combination of high-quality ingredients, probiotics, and gentle formula make it a fantastic choice for dogs with sensitive skin and stomachs. I will continue to feed my dog this formula and I am confident in its ability to keep him happy and healthy.

Best yet, Great diet, better then most expensive.
I needed help and this food is saving me vet trips so it’s great. Make my little man feel great. He eats it all. And his skin is soooo much better his coat started getting darker witch surprised me. This also helps his but glands not to get compacted as much. He prefers lamb over salmon.

Good product
Good product, a bit pricy though, but aren’t all dog foods now a days ?? It works relatively well for my dog with IBD. She doesn’t always like the flavor that much, but it is better for her stomach than most, so I am sticking with it for now.

My German Shepherd loves it!
I have a 2 1/2 year old German Shepherd. She has been on Pro Plan since she was a puppy. I have been feeding her the Salmon for Sensitive Skin and Sensitive Stomach for Large Breeds for nearly 2 years now and it is an excellent product. Lately she seemed to get bored with her regular food so I thought I would try her out on a small 4 lb bag of the Lamb and Oatmeal to see if she liked it. She loves it! I only wish it would come in the bigger pellets for large breed dogs because she can eat this one without chewing. The Lamb kibble consists of smaller triangles instead of the large round pellets in Salmon for large breeds. I fixed the problem by feeding her a scoop of the larger Salmon kibble with a scoop of the smaller Lamb on top. That is working very well. She eats everything with enthusiasm and since the larger kibble is mixed in with the smaller stuff she still has to take her time and chew her food. Both types are great for her skin and coat and are easily digested. I just ordered the larger 24 lb bag of Lamb and will continue to give her a scoop of each as that is working so well. I hope Purina will make the Lamb for large breeds available as an option in the near future.

Good quality, lab mix seems healthier
I have an 11-year-old lab mix who has always been a very strong dog and very energetic and healthy. I was using Kirkland food for a while to save money because I had three dogs. I had to give two dogs away to another home and kept my older boy and he seemed a little more lethargic. He gained a little weight and he was limping a bit. I give him Synovi G4 for his joints, and since I’ve been feeding him this food, he seems to be happier and healthier. He’s lost a couple of pounds of weight and he seems to be moving better.

Worth the money
I have 2 dogs….one with sensitive skin and the other with a sensitive stomach. This one food has brought relief to both of our dogs. My dog with sensitive skin was able to come off of allergy medication and hasn’t had any problems with his ears since starting this food. Bonus, they both like the taste. It has paid for itself in vet bills and medicines and I dont need to haul two different kinds of food…so I am very pleased!

So far so good
Product was delivered fine. I’m switching my girl off Turkey/Venison Purina One because of some stress colitis issues and I’m trying to keep things more basic and her vet recommended this, she said it’s what her dogs eat. Well so far I can’t speak on the benefits as we are just switching today but I added a small portion to her regular food to transition and she picked the old kibble out of her bowl and totally ignored it. We have a wild mini schnauzer mix that will eat any food around so it’s clear which she prefers taste wise. Happy with the purchase so far and we all got a nice giggle watching her toss the old junky food aside. So far it’s an A+!!

Seems to work
I recently came into a better paying job and I had promised myself I would get better food for my cats and dogs. (Ferrets require special diet they spoiled) I have 5 different dogs. A couple seem to have stomach issues and another skin and ear issues. So I thought I’d start with this.Gonna talk a little gross hereThey seem to enjoy it. It does smell very strong of fish if you’re a bit sensitive to that maybe get a different flavor. My Dane mix is not gobbling down grass and throwing it up anymore. BM’s are better. Not sure that it’s made a difference with their skin/coat but definitely helping with stomach issues. They’ve been on it about 6mo now.

Even the cat fights to get some!
The dogs were tiring of the usual dry food we mix with their wet food at night and were leaving all of those little black pellets all over the floor. We got tired of sweeping them up plus those black pellets were the vitamins and good stuff for the dogs. well, if they were not eating the healthy part, that defeated the purpose. I looked around on the interwebs and found this. It sounded good to me and since the dogs also love fish I thought it would be good for them. They also get wet food, but I worry about too much salmon for them. That is my only concern. That and the dogs having to soo the cat away instead of the opposite situation. 🙂

This food has improved his health!
Someone threw Chewy out by our farm in 2021. He was covered in ticks and even had them on his tongue. He had a bad limp and mats all over his coat. Much care a few vet visits and he was on his way to full recovery. I feed him Pedegree dry food like I had always feed my dogs and for a while I didn’t notice a problem Within the past 2 months Chewy had repeatedly ate grass and vomited a few times. He was also scratching himself more than normal. I did some research and then bought this food. It has made more of a difference in him than I was looking for. He has stopped eating grass and no upset stomach or scratching but the most noticeable difference is the gloss and shine of his fur!! The vet said he is part Chow and part Australian Shepherd so he has the fur coat that is a mix of both. It absolutely shines and is so very soft. His energy level to run and work with us on the farm has also increased. I recommend you give it a try if your dog is having stomach issues.

The Results Are In
Background info…In Summer 2018, I was researching dog food brands for a puppy I’d be getting in July. Previously, I had used Purina for all the dogs I’d had since 1979. In 2014, while taking care of my son’s beautiful Lab, I was given BLUE BUFFALO Wilderness. By Thanksgiving 2014, the dog was acting sickly, throwing up, etc. We changed to another bag that my son had left with us, and still, the same reaction. We took the dog to the vet, and nothing was found to be the source of the lethargy, etc. Long story short, I documented everything that happened from Nov-Jan 2015. The dog died in mid January. We even paid for a necropsy. The only abnormality was a touch of a chemical found in mothballs. No, we didn’t have any in our home or around plants, etc in the yard. ConsumerAffairs had a boatload of complaints against the company. In 2018, when reading info about various brands of dog food, I was pleased to see that Purina, the brand I had used for nearly 40 yrs, met the standards. I have used Purina Pro FOCUS for puppies, and now, Adult formula. My dog is an Australian Labradoodle. The breed has the long ears, so I have avoided the ‘chicken’ flavor, as vets have commented that a diet of chicken can cause yeast infections in the dogs’ ears. Purina Pro Focus all the way!M. Gasper

Purina Pro for Sensitive Skin and Stomach
My beagle is 9 years old and around 35 pounds. Purina Pro Sensitive Skin and Stomach with the Probiotic has helped with the itching and digestive issues. I tried a lot of other top brands or resorting back to foods he liked in the past but it would give him acid reflux or constipation. Since putting him on this food in May 2022, he seems to enjoy it and its good for his digestive issues. The itching has stopped almost completely and its rare if he vomits or has acid reflux issues. It is a little pricey but worth it if my dog is happy. I’m a satisfied dog mom knowing my fur baby is better.

Highly Recommend > Stop Harmful Grain Free Food
At a recent veterinarian appointment for my 8 year old Mini Australian Shepherds the doctor made me aware that the grain free diet I was currently using had been linked to heart disease & heart failure. I was shocked. My dog is my entire world & I thought the expensive food I had been choosing was the best for her. The veterinarian, despite being busy in the midst of the pandemic, sat on a video consult with me after they brought my dog back to the car. She elaborated by walking me through the extensive various studies, the heart condition itself which is called canine dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). She explained that grain-free pet foods rely on lentils, peas, and potatoes to replace grain. They lack a key ingredient dogs require, taurine which is an amino acid used in the production of protein. The lack of this taurine is what the studies have shown increases the risk of your dog developing DCM, even in breeds not prone to heart disease. She recommended I made the transition to Purina Pro Plan Adult Sensitive Skin & Stomach Salmon & Rice Formula since it has Salmon as the first ingredient, in addition to omega fatty acids which aide in for joint health and mobility – especially important now that my dog is 8 & considered a senior. It also does NOT include corn, wheat or soy, and without poultry by-product meal.I made the transition in April & my dog has her energy back. She’s truly got a pep in her step back. I haven’t changed anything besides her food & credit this switch. When it comes to dog food you don’t always get what you pay for & I learned that the scary way. I hope that the years I fed her grain free doesn’t negatively impact her in the future & I’m just blessed that the vet took the extra time to discuss all of her daily rituals to find this mistake so I could fix it.I highly recommend this product, especially to anyone who’s currently feeding their pup a grain free diet!

Very fishy smell (dog hated the “Turkey & Oat Meal” flavor)
My dog used to eat the “Lamb & Oat Meal” flavor of this dog food no problem but over the last 6-ish months, each bag I’ve ordered has gotten fishier and fishier. It literally smells like fish food and makes her breath smell horrible. I recently purchased the “Turkey & Oat Meal” flavor and it’s just as fishy and our dog only eats a few bites and then walks away which isn’t like her at all.

Miracle dog food for a two year battle with serious skin. Thank You Purina Pro Plan Focus!!!
I don’t normally write a lot of reviews, but for this product, I felt I needed to make an exception. When I explain why I am so happy with this product, I think anyone who loves their dog will understand. I currently have three dogs in my home. Two of them belong to my husband and me and the third is a 14-15 year old foster named Frankie. We have had Frankie for over two years now. At this point we are convinced he is with us to stay. Frankie’s story is sad. He had been found on the side of a busy road bloody and broken. I went to where he was being cared for, to foster another dog, and when I saw Frankie, I had to take him too. The other dog was adopted a week later and Frankie has been here since. Frankie is a Pekingese. I am convinced that someone must have poured something over his back. He is completely bald on his back and neck. Unfortunately he has the worst skin I have ever seen on a dog. For the past two years we have been to two different vet offices. We’ve tried numerous treatments (holistic as well as prescription). We’ve tried different oils, creams, and shampoos. This poor little guy was getting three baths a week because of the blood and scales that constantly formed on his body. I was almost ready to just give up and accept that there was nothing that could be done for this poor dog. All I could do is try to keep him as comfortable as possible. Now, for the happy ending… I just happened to find this Pro Plan Focus on Amazon. I wasn’t sure if it would work, but, I decided to go ahead and give it a try. Frankie has been on this new food for about a month now and the results are absolutely amazing. We are down to giving Frankie only one bath a week now and his skin is looking absolutely fantastic! I know he will never grow hair on his back or neck (I make him wear a shirt at all times just to keep his skin protected), but, I am amazed that the scales have not formed anymore and there is no more bleeding. He has even started to act like a dog for the first time since we have had him in our home. He actually runs and plays. For the entire time he has been in our home his activity level has been blinking. Thank You Purina Pro Plan Focus for this amazing miracle food. Our other dogs have always eaten Purina Pro Plan. I wish the Focus was in our stores. I will just have to keep getting it through Amazon.
