How should you transition from your dog’s current food to IAMS?
To transition your dog to IAMS, mix your dog’s current food with IAMS. Over 4 days, gradually decrease the amount of the current food while increasing the amount of IAMS to avoid digestive issues.
What are the benefits of feeding my dog IAMS over other brands?
IAMS is committed to keeping your dog healthy for life. This means as your dog’s nutrient requirements changes over the years, IAMS offers tailored nutrition for each stage of life and has products that target specific health needs.
When do I transition my dog from IAMS puppy food to IAMS adult food and then to IAMS senior food?
As your puppy grows, plan to re-examine their nutritional needs between 12 and 24 months of age (depending on breed size). IAMS offers food that meets the nutritional needs of all dogs through all life stages, from puppy to adult to senior.
Can I feed my dog IAMS wet food and IAMS dry kibble?
Yes. Feeding your dog both IAMS wet food and IAMS dry kibble with a combined or mixed feeding approach can offer a variety of flavors and textures that your dog may enjoy, but also offers the benefits of both products in one meal.

Our Pugs love the Iams Lamb and Rice Minichunks
We’ve been feeding our Pugs Iams Lamb and Rice for years before they started making the Minichunks version and now we use the Minichunks version because the pieces are smaller and easy for our seniors to eat plus it’s a great value being able to have in it a 38.5 lb option and having it delivered instead of driving all over to barely find it in stock somewhere else only in a 15 lb bag highly recommend

Dogo enjoyed
Switched over to this because Purina was so expensive when there was a shortage. Have been buying it in stores lately, and my dog loves it. Don’t love all the ingredients, but living a college life with little money, sometimes the doggy has to eat like the humans, ramen special

All three of my dogs love the iams mini chunks Lamb. I would like to change it up and that’s why I ordered the chicken. I hope they love the chicken as much as they loved the lamb.

Healthy
I think this is a healthy choice for dogs if you don’t mind grains in the food. But I think my dog has tired of it. Prices have gone up quite a bit in the last months.

Not just lamb
My dog has food allergies and needs to be on single protein diet. Thought it was lamb…This also contains chicken by product. Careful if yours are sensitive as well.

Good for pups with allergies
It took a lot of expensive vet visits to determine that my dog was allergic to chicken. I tried different food products. Some food was named “lamb and rice” on the front of the package however when I looked at the ingredients listed on the back of the product, there was chicken. This product has ZERO chicken, and my dog no longer has issues. Highly recommend.

Dogs really seem to love it.
I decided to switch up the dogs food to the Lamb & Rice after having the chicken flavor in a different high quality dog food brand for years. Haven’t really noticed a change in the dogs eating habits, except the 17 year old. She’s not much longer for this world and we have noticed that she goes and eats a little more often. The dogs have never been healthier.I was buying a different brand and was happy with it, but the price kept increasing almost on a monthly basis. It was on the “subscribe & save” on a monthly basis and each time the price was increased. Sometimes a little, sometimes very noticeable. I looked at other brands and the IAMS was much cheaper.I decided to compare the two brands. The ingredients and the quality of ingredients were nearly identical. I went to numerous websites that studied and reviewed many different brand dog foods and they also mentioned that the food ingredients and quality were nearly identical. Each time these two were always in the top three recommended on every website I visited. IAMS was rated higher slightly more often than the brand I had been buying. And with the significant price difference it was a no brainer.

Best Switch I Made
Switched to this brand for my 3 fur babies from another solely based on price and the fact i know Iams to be a great brand to feed. Because this bag was half the amount of the other brand, I had set it up to get a bag every 6 weeks instead of every 3 months. It has now been 8 weeks of feeding the Iams food and not only am I still on the first bag, but only about 1/4 of it has been fed out. I could not be happier. Here’s why this food is lasting longer. 1st the pieces are small and bit size, about the size of a dime. This makes it perfect for small dogs and also means you can fed less. The other brand was much larger pieces so more was being fed out. 2nd the Iams is a complete food so your fur babies will get what they need in a smaller amount and be happy. Feeding 2 to 3 smaller “meals” to your pet, just like you eat, also helps keep them happy and from being hungry. You can actually see the oil, but not feel it, in this feed which helps their skin and coat. Lastly, the old saying of what goes in must come out is very true. However the better food you fed the less they put out.I am not only saving money, and more than I thought I would, but my fur babies are actually happier and in better shape on this food.

Dogs hair problem
I switched my 2 dogs over to this because it’s supposed to be a better quality brand but by the second bag I got both my dogs (Dane and Doberman) started to loose their hair – like they are thinning out or going bald. If it wasn’t for this I would have stayed on this food but this cant be safe for them if its making this happen.

Zeus approved but mommy wishes that they would take out Carmel color and chicken by product meal
My pittie eats whatever I put in front of him. I bought this because of the price because of the normal dog food I buy him went up in price. I wish they would take out the corn and the Carmel color and the chicken by product meal. He has a sensitive stomach and normally he will throw up sometimes but all I can say is he has really bad gas. The vet says it’s not the best brand but with the price going up with dog food I normally don’t go for something like this. He seems to feel better and all that. He actually eats it with no problems. He would throw up on the other brand. Day 2 and it seems like his poop has gotten smaller and he seems happier. When I went back to check on the price it went up by 11 dollars a bag.

Its okayi guess. our dog got tired of it fast as far as flavor.
Definitely not for large or medium dogs. These little pepples piss my dog off so i have to mix it with tuna or carrots for him. Just to finish off the bag.

Good food, but dramatically increased dog’s gas
Switched over for 2 months to this for my Lab mix from another Salmon ‘premium’ food brand (largely because I needed a larger bag to get me through the month). This food actually was more appealing to my dog than the other Salmon ‘premium’ option. Not once has he skipped a meal, which sometimes occurred with the other brand. That being said, I have discontinued ordering this for one reason – this food dramatically has increased my dog’s gas. Sure, gas happens, but it is now obnoxious (and actually scares the dog a bit too). I tried this out for 2 months to see if his stomach needed to adjust but alas it did not.

It is healthy dog food for my dog.
My dog is a Cattle Dog and has had many digestive problems all her life and this is the only dog food that is able to help her digestive system and enables her to be an active 5-year-old happy and healthy family member. Thank you.

My dog doesn’t smell any more.
Okay the average dog smell is there but baths take care of that. The big issue was his old food gave him gas and his poops smelled awful and he would have accidents. About a week after I started him on IAMS he stopped having accidents and he doesn’t have nearly as much gas and the little he has doesn’t smell so bad. It is worth every penny

Lamb seems to be better for stomach.
I don’t like 14% fat. I mix with carrots and green beans for good fiber, better nutrion and use less dog food to reduce fat intake.

Healthy for Sharpeis
Amazon was the best deal for this food, given that lamb or duck dog foods run a bit more pricey than chicken dog food. I have 6 sharpeis and Target/Walmart sometimes had the lamb and rice and other times they didn’t. I was instructed by my vet to purchase a dog food that was made out of lamb or duck protein due to my dogs coat becoming patchy and rough. Since I have given them IAMS lamb and rice their coats are amazing they even gained a little extra weight. I love this brand and I love that it gets delivered to me no need to load the heavy bags in my car!

This is an acceptable substitute!
My dog was previously using Nutro Small bites lamb and rice. This was a great formula for allergic dogs with sensitive stomachs. I raised 2 Westies on this. Well they changed the formula! My poor dog was sick, with horrible noises coming from her stomach, diarrhea and gas. (They put chia seeds in the Nutro. I called the company and they suggested the IAMs. So far so good.
