My dog was scared of it

My dog was scared of it no matter what I did. I couldn’t get him to go anywhere near it. However, if you can get it to work for your dog, I think they would be pretty cool.

    Great beginner training toy

My dogs did like using the buttons. They are super sensitive at time but not always a bad thing especially when your dog wants something to be proud of! Would recommend!

    Works, but with some flaws

First, speaker is on the bottom, so you have to record yourself almost yelling, especially on carpet.Second, the record button sticks out the side, so if you bump into it or your pet does, it starts recording over your original. (Note: If you pop the batteries out before it stops recording, your original message won’t be deleted.) I cut my record buttons off flush and that mostly fixed that problem.Don’t talk directly into it, or it will be muffled by your breath.Otherwise, it does the trick. My dogs mainly ask me to “Open the door, please.”

Too easy to hit the side/reset button

These are great in theory, but my guys (2 10 lb toy poodles) hit the button on the side by accident more often than not and we have to re-record the message so often that we are now looking for another brand. The big paw button on top plays the sound, the tiny side button that is just a centimeter or 2 away from the top button is what one pushes to record the message. It gets reset if it’s barely tapped. These things get bonked up against a wall, a paw, a foot, balls rolls by, etc and just a tiny touch defaults to blank. An easy solution would be to have to hold the button down for say 3-5 seconds, then a beep, then record the message. You won’t be re-recording messages every day. Plus, the message really needs to be the exact same for the dogs to understand. My dogs often hit the button and there is no sound bc we didn’t realize it had been reset. Just needs a small fix and it will be all good.

    My dog loves these!

These are super easy to use, and my dog caught on super quick. The only issue is, they maybe too easy to use — the record button is on the side and my dog has now learned how to reset it, I’ve had some very nice recordings of her barking! Overall a great quality product though, just wish the record button was on the bottom!

    Love these!

I absolutely love these. They work great! I have found I can control volume of the play back by how loud I talk into the recording wich does help especially for words that are natural soft sounds. One of my poodles understands these great and is already combining buttons to tell me what she wants. My other poodle who is only 8 months is just starting to understand the outside button but hasn’t figured out the others. I’m definitely going to be getting more to add words for her.

    Worth buying

This product is definitely worth buying. The set up and instructions were clear and easy. The voice retention and playback was smooth and satisfactory to my needs.

Would not recommend for large breeds

I adopted a 2 month old, black lab retriever mix puppy and thought it would be awesome to teach him how to use these. The sound quality was pretty good and easy to set up. He learned all four buttons (Mom, play, outside and treat) in 2 weeks. I did have an issue with him hitting the record button a lot so I had to go back and re-record the buttons. He’s been using the buttons for about 2 months now and he’s down to one button. The other one’s stopped working but I think it may just be from him hitting the buttons too hard. He is pretty big already so I wouldn’t recommend it for larger breeds but I would recommend it for smaller breeds.

    Fun with the pup

It was easy to record and so far my pup has not destroyed them. He loves to press the paw that asks if he wants a treat.

    Works great!

We got these just to switch from bells to something we could hear better for when our dog needs to go potty. He’s a little more hesitant with the buttons then he was with the bells but he is getting there. They were east to set up and loud enough to hear in another room! However water was spilled on one and it stopped working sadly so we are down to three. But for the price they are really good.

    Didn’t last long

Purchased 4 buttons in early January. I was the only one to use them the first month. After a month of pushing the buttons a few times daily, our then 3 month old puppy began using them. She pushes gently with a paw. Within a week or so, one button quite working, only made a clicking sound for a few days until it stopped making any noises completely (batteries are fine). It broke when I was re-recording it again. (It is very easy to accidentally erase messages and need to re-record them.) Another week or so go by and a second button also quit working completely. We have owned this set of 4 for just over ten weeks and are down to half of a set.

    Not what I expected

I loved the concept of these, but they aren’t what I thought they’d be! You record yourself and then teach your pet how to “tap” one. My dogs are very good so I didn’t see the need for them after I tried them.

Great starter kit for the pooch

Our dog really enjoys these buttons. She bops them with her nose or her paw. We love that we can record our own voice for her to respond to. Good product for beginners.

Adorable but wish it was in tact

This came with 4 pieces. It’s great but one was missing the pieces over the screws to prevent it from sliding on the floor and it was also missing the piece to keep the batteries in place. Kind of bummed about that but overall a nice product so I’ll figure out a solution to fix the minor issues.

only 2 of the 4 buttons worked. The other 2 will only make ticking noises.

I ordered the box with four buttons. They’re very cute and easy to set up, however, only two of the four would work; the other two will not record anything. They just keep making ticking noises. I put brand new batteries in them so I don’t think the batteries are the problem.

    This is amazing! So fun!

I have a pomsky that learned how to use these in just a day. She’s pretty smart, but they’re so easy to record what you want and with just a little patience in the beginning, your dog will quickly catch on. Now she won’t stop asking me to go outside lol

    Great except sound quality

The media could not be loaded.

I had to record several times at different lengths away from my mouth and various loudness to achieve this amount of being understandable but other than that, they’re good. The record button is very sensitive though, the dog has bumped it a few times and recorded so I’ve had to redo it a few times now already. This is my dog after a week of me saying “button” and helping her push it. Then I started sitting near the button with treats and not telling her to push it, this is the result. She’s learning quickly!

    Easily broken

Everything works great however if you have a black lab as I do and she hears your voice and wants to put it in her mouth to carry it somewhere well that’s the end of that! Not very sturdy considering this IS MADE FOR A DOG

    Too easy to reset it

The media could not be loaded.

I got these to try and train my dogs to let me know when they wanted to go potty or get treats. Training has been difficult to say the least lol but on to the button. It is easy to press and it’s fairly large in size so it’s easy to use and any size dog can push the button. My main complaint is the recording. The record button is on the side so it is constantly getting hit on accident by either me or the dogs. It’s super sensitive too so you barely have to touch it and you’ll have to record again. The feet on the bottom are pretty useless for grip. They really only work to keep the speaker off the ground. It slides around pretty easy and so is always moving. The mic doesn’t seem that great so you have to try a couple of times to get a clear and louder recording on it. Usually take me 4 or 5 times. Sometimes it sounds muffled. Sometimes it’s just super soft. If you get to close to try and make it louder sometimes that just overpowers the mic so you get a crackly recording that’s difficult to understand. I originally was using the green button for “potty” however after having to rerecord on it a few times it just died in the middle of me trying to record. I thought it was the batteries at first but switched them out with no luck. I barely had it for a month when this button died. I only used 2 buttons so I did have a backup to use instead but honestly I wouldn’t buy these again. They seem like a great idea and they’re affordable but the design flaws are such a nusance that it outweighs any benefits in my opinion.

    Straight forward and effective

Got these buttons because I wanted to see how my dog took to them before spending a lot of money on a nicer set. Honestly, I’ll probably just stick to these. A lot of the reviews on the “nicer” products complained about how small the buttons were. These buttons are nice and big and easy for my big boy to press. The buttons are super easy to setup. Just pop in two AAA batteries, hold the record button for two seconds, record your phrase, and voila! You’re good to go! It took my dog a little longer to understand how to press them. I’ve trained him as a therapy dog, and he’s been trained not to paw at things. But he learned to touch it with his nose instead! I may even get some Velcro and mount them on the wall for him next to what they represent. As far as I can tell, the only difference between these and the expensive brands is that the others come with a mat. These are a great way to start with your pet!

    Works fine, very light.

I taught my 2 year old dog to ask for treats within minutes. Now if I take treats out, she runs to push button, if I put lid on the freeze dried liver, she immediately hits button. These need to be heavier, she flips them hitting button, also she wants to pick them up like a toy. Price was low, so can’t really expect much more. I was surprised how quick she mastered it. Also I recorded Ball and she does do that also. Trying to think of other things to record.

    Good product

Easy to set up and use. Only downfall is if you accidentally bump the button it resets, so you have to be careful it doesn’t hit the wall or is accidentally kicked during training. If you get one of those mats, it would probably help a lot. My pup hasn’t figured it out yet but hopefully soon!!

    Wore out quick

My pup is easy with paws, but this seems to get stuck in a pushed in position, perpetually repeating about two seconds of what ever was last recorded. I have had them for about a month. While my dog has learned the words, he’s frustrated they won’t always work. He gets a sad face.

The sound quality is bad enough that these are unusable.

Those of you that were fortunate to have a Game Boy in the late 80’s and early 90’s, you experienced sound quality that was DRASTICALLY better than what this offers. This button plays your voice back significantly quieter than the level at which you record it and in order to make it loud enough for it to be remotely usable, you need to record your voice at a much louder level. The door to my office is about 5 feet away from the front door to my house, where the “outside” button is located. It’s just BARELY loud enough to where I can hear it when my dog presses it without any music/tv in the background and the playback sounds like someone is talking through kazoo. I asked my guests to guess what word was playing back when I pushed the button and only one out of five was able to guess properly, it’s THAT distorted.I tried this with all four buttons, all four had the same result, so it’s not a defective button, just really poor quality.

    Record button on the side

I would not recommend these mainly due to the placement of the record button. It is on the side of the device which is less than ideal if you don’t have the device on some sort of mat as they will slide. I expected this as I have a different brand of pet “buttons” that also slide when my excited dog presses them. However because of the location of the record button on these devices, it gets pressed when my dog pushes the device into things and regularly and erases the recordings. The other brand of “buttons” I have for my dogs have the record button underneath of the device. So though these do slide if not on a mat, the actual recording doesn’t get erased. I’ll probably be returning these. The sound quality is also mediocre.

Fun way to train your dog.

These buttons are awesome and allow me to know when my pet needs or wants something. He learned very fast what his buttons mean and he was using them within 3 days. He can tell me if his water or food bowl need refilled, if he wants to go to the park to play with his friends, if he needs a bathroom break of if he needs help finding his favorite toy. My schnauzer already has so much personality but now he can tell me what he needs with the push of a button. He gets so excited to tell me he loves me.❤️

Audio is very muffled and volume depends on the words you use

I love that my dog can communicate more easily with us now, but u will say we are limited to what words we can say otherwise the volume drops significantly for whatever reason. For example, when I record “food” the audio is both very quiet and barely sounds human.
